Two medals at the “Batterie d'Eccellenza” Competition
The excellence and high quality of our Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Modena DOP aged for at least 25 years ( ed. Extra Vecchio) inside two wooden batteries of our ancient vinegar factories have been awarded a Gold medal and a Platinum medal. These two batteries, whose barrels are made of the oldest and most precious woods, welcome the slow lingering of the Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Modena DOP “Extra Vecchio” obtained only from cooked must from the vineyards of our Tenuta del Cigno farm on the outskirts of Modena.
The occasion was the first edition of the “Batterie d'Eccellenza” Competition, organized by the Consorzio Tutela Aceto Balsamico Tradizionale di Modena in collaboration with the Consorteria dell'Aceto Balsamico Tradizionale di Spilamberto to enhance the importance of historic batteries, the expertise and know-how of the passionate owners and producers.
The award ceremony, which was held last September 27th in the fascinating and suggestive setting of the Enzo Ferrari House Museum , where our Acetaia - represented by Ermes and Massimo Malpighi, president - also paraded among the "reds" that have made the history of world motoring, style="color:rgb(0, 0, 0)">was preceded by a tasting that brought together, in the afternoon, experts and industry press to gain a thorough understanding of the fascinating world of Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Modena DOP.
Led by Francesca Romana Barberini, the guests were accompanied in the tasting, organized in collaboration with Gambero Rosso, by Enrico Corsini , Leonardo Giacobazzi , Councilor of the Consortium of Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Modena and Maurizio Fini, Grand Master of the Consortium of Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Spilamberto who skillfully described the Traditional Balsamic Vinegars of Modena DOP aged 12 years standard, Extravecchio 25 years standard, 25 years single-wood: Juniper, Cherry, Oak.
In the context of the competition, a total of 23 samples of Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Modena DOP were awarded, including 5 won the platinum medal and 18 the gold medal: among these there is also our Balsamic Vinegar.

We have always carried forward our values linked to an ancient tradition, which as such must be protected and preserved: all our Vinegars and Condiments are obtained only with quality raw materials, the grapes from the family vineyards. The blends are studied personally by me and my father because ours is a family business, which has carried forward the tradition of Balsamic Vinegar for five generations. All these elements represent our added value, what we believe in, what we are committed to doing every day. This important Award is a further recognition for us”.
